Most manufacturers in this category don't publish MSRP, which makes it hard for buyers to know whether a quote is reasonable.
This guide collects published list prices where manufacturers release them and explains what drives the number where they don't.
Methodology is at the bottom.
Published List Pricing
Manufacturers who publish list prices — the easiest figures to verify.

| Yellow Jacket | YJ1000 | 908 lb | 25 HP Kubota D1105 diesel | Request pricing |
| Yellow Jacket | YJ1100 | 1,650 lb at ≈50% of tip (≈1,120 lb on the ISO basis) | 25 HP Kubota D1105 diesel | Request pricing |
| Yellow Jacket | YJ1200 | 1,200 lb | 25 HP Kubota D1703-M diesel, wide track | Request pricing |
| Yellow Jacket | YJ2000 | 2,000 lb | 50 HP Yanmar 4TNV86CT diesel | Request pricing |
| Yellow Jacket | YJ3000 | 3,000 lb | 75 HP Kubota V2607 diesel | Request pricing |

| Boxer | 700HDX | 693–707 lb | 24.8 hp Kubota | ~$33,600 |
Boxer figures from published list pricing; verify current before relying on them.
Dealer-Quoted Brands
Premium manufacturers don't publish MSRP. Their pricing varies meaningfully by region and dealer, so get written quotes from local dealers to compare.
| Brand | Models | Capacity range |
|---|---|---|
| Bobcat | MT55, MT85, MT100, MT120 | 850–1,200 lb |
| Toro Dingo | 320-D through TX 1300 | 515–1,300 lb |
| Ditch Witch | SK600 through SK1750 | ~600–1,824 lb |
| Vermeer | ML130 through S925TX | 750–925 lb |
| Kubota | SCL1000 | 1,000 lb |
Bobcat MT100 units have listed on MachineryTrader across a wide range depending on condition and configuration.
Price Per Pound of Capacity
A more useful comparison than raw price, since it normalizes for machine size.
Calculate: purchase price ÷ rated operating capacity (ISO basis).
What Drives Price in This Category
Distribution model. The largest single factor. Dealer-network brands carry margin at multiple steps; factory-direct brands don't. Capability doesn't change — the path to the buyer does.
Engine. Gas costs less than diesel. Larger diesels cost more.
Capacity and size. More machine, more cost.
Brand and resale. Market-leading brands command a premium partly because their used market is deeper, which is a real benefit to buyers who trade frequently.
Track configuration. Wide-track versions cost more.
Attachments
Frequently the larger number over a machine's life, and rarely included in price comparisons.
Relative cost, cheapest to most expensive:
Bucket (usually included) → forks → grapples → augers → brooms → compactors → trenchers → breakers → stump grinders → mulchers and rock saws
A mulching head or rock saw can approach the cost of a small machine.
Rental Rates
For anyone weighing rent vs. buy.
Daily: commonly $250–350 in most markets, plus attachment charges, delivery, and fuel.
Weekly: typically equivalent to 3–4 daily rates.
Monthly: best per-day economics.
Break-even, roughly: purchase price ÷ your local daily rate.
Are mini skid steers worth it? →
Used Market
The used market for mini skid steers is thinner than for full-size equipment.
What we observe: well-maintained used premium-brand machines frequently price close to new value-brand machines. At that intersection, a buyer is choosing between a used name brand with no warranty and a new machine with one — a real decision that goes both ways.
Undercarriage condition is the expensive variable. Tracks, rollers, idlers, and sprockets. Check them before hours.
Where These Figures Come From
List prices come from manufacturers' published pricing, and rental rates reflect regional rental yards' published rates. Where a figure isn't published, we leave it out rather than guess.

FAQ
Why don't most manufacturers publish prices?
Dealer-network brands leave pricing to dealers, which varies by region, inventory, and negotiation. Factory-direct brands typically publish.
Is a cheaper machine lower quality?
Not necessarily. Look at engine platform, hydraulic specs, and parts availability. Much of the price spread in this category is distribution model rather than capability.
Do prices include attachments?
Machine prices generally include a bucket. Everything else is separate.
Why do capacity figures vary between similar machines?
Frequently because of rating basis. Always check whether ROC is 35% or 50% of tipping load.
Where can I check current pricing myself?
MachineryTrader and EquipmentTrader for listings; manufacturer sites for published lists; local dealers for quotes.
